Welcome to The Well at Centennial

The Well at Centennial is a gathering place for all!  Throughout our spiritual history, wells have been very important places.  A well was a place where all kinds of people would gather to receive that which they needed to sustain life.  We gather at The Well to receive that which we need to sustain our spiritual lives.  Jacobs Well, the source of water and life for our ancestors, became the same place that Jesus spoke to a certain woman, where she experienced eternal life that came gushing up within her.  The well connects our Jewish and Christian heritage, as we live and work towards creating places where all are welcome in Gods grace.  As we each come to the well, we lower our buckets, dropping deep into the well to receive that which we need for life with God.  We hope you will join us as we seek God together.

BeFrienders

BeFriender Ministry is a lay pastoral care program. Trained lay persons enter into caring relationships with those in need of pastoral care, providing emotional and spiritual support, particularly to our homebound and members residing in nursing homes. BeFrienders provide a nonjudgmental listening presence to those they visit.

15 BeFrienders at Centennial have extended care to over 29 people since we began this ministry two years ago!  It is our goal to ensure that every person at Centennial receive the care and support of our community.  We are recruiting new BeFrienders this fall.  You can find flyers in the sanctuary pews and at the Welcome Center. You can fill these out and return them to Julia Nordling in the church office.

Information sessions will begin in September, and extensive training will be provided to all volunteers throughout the fall. We will address issues such as grief and loss, spirituality, listening, and confidentiality. We hope that you will consider being part of this ministry of listening and visitation!

Messianic Seder On April 9, 2009 we hosted a Messianic Seder for our high school youth.  We learned about the Passover Meal, while connecting our Jewish heritage to our Christian faith!  It was an intimate and wonderful night of learning and playing together! Take a look at some of the photos!

Ministry Team recruitment for the upcoming year: Please consider signing up to participate on one of our ministry teams. The ministry teams are the backbone of The Well – your help ensures that we have meaningful worship each week! The commitment is to help once a month. We hope you’ll join in the work and the fun!
